Am Lehrstuhl für Produktions- und Ressourcenökonomie engagieren wir uns für die Förderung von Forschungskooperationen und akademischer Zusammenarbeit mit afrikanischen Partnern, um die einzigartigen Herausforderungen und Chancen zu bewältigen, denen sich die Agrar- und Ernährungssysteme sowie das nachhaltige Ressourcenmanagement auf dem gesamten Kontinent gegenübersehen. Durch interdisziplinäre Forschung und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit sowie den Aufbau von Kapazitäten wollen wir zu einer nachhaltigen landwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung, Ernährungssicherheit und einem dynamischen Wirtschaftswachstum in Afrika beitragen. Die Zusammenarbeit mit afrikanischen Forschern, politischen Entscheidungsträgern, Nichtregierungsorganisationen und öffentlichen Einrichtungen ermöglicht es uns, innovative Lösungen zu entwickeln, die kontextspezifisch und wirkungsvoll sind, und gleichzeitig modernste Kapazitäten aufzubauen und starke Partnerschaften zu stärken, die langfristige Veränderungen bewirken. Gemeinsam versuchen wir, Wissenslücken zu schließen, lokales und regionales Fachwissen zu erweitern und eine gemeinsame Vision für eine widerstandsfähigere und wohlhabendere landwirtschaftliche, ländliche und städtische Zukunft zu schaffen.
