GL-Pro: European extension network for the development of grain legume production in the EU

Projektbeschreibung:

Vor dem Hintergrund des drastischen Versorgungsdefizits an Futtereiweiß in Europa (ca. 75 %) hat das EU-Verbundprojekt das Ziel, einen Beitrag zur Förderung des europäischen Körnerleguminosenanbaues zu leisten. Das umfangreiche Projekt besteht aus fünf Arbeitspaketen (work packages, WP), wobei WP3 eine ökonomische Bewertung beinhaltet. Im Einzelnen sind folgende Aspekte zu bearbeiten:

• Datenerfassung in verschiedenen europäischen Regionen als Ausgangsbasis für die ökonomische Analyse
• Ermittlung der Wettbewerbskraft des Körnerleguminosenanbaues in regionalen Fruchtfolgen mit Hilfe eines zu erstellenden spezifischen Rechenprogrammes
• Durchführung und Auswertung von Befragungen von Landwirten, die keine Körnerleguminosen anbauen
• Abschätzung des Anbau- und Erzeugungspotenzials von Körnerleguminosen in ausgewählten europäischen Regionen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der aktuellen Agrarreform-Beschlüsse.

Project Description:

With regard to the actual deficit of protein-rich materials in Europe (nearly 75 %) this European joint research project (concerted action) has the objective to contribute to the development of the European grain legume production as a major source of protein-rich material for animal feed.
There are five work packages (WP) among these WP3 "Economic Analysis". In detail the following parts are to be studied in this WP:

• Collecting data in different European regions to establish a list of data required for the economic analysis
• Valuating the economic interest of grain legumes in regional crop rotations based on a calculation tool
• Carrying out surveys in different European regions with farmers who do not produce grain legumes
• Evaluating the potential area and production of grain legumes in the different regions with special regard to the actual CAP reform.
