The Deutsche Bundesbank awards annual funding for scientific projects that are closely related to its statutory tasks. In the current round of awards, a research project at the Technical University of Munich is being funded.

Specifically, the Deutsche Bundesbank supports Christoph Gschnaidtner and Prof. Dr Hanna Hottenrott, both members of the Economics & Policy Department at the TUM School of Management, in their research project on the "Impact of the EBA stress tests on the awarding of credit ratings to European banks". In this context, theoretical and empirical methods are to be used to investigate whether bank stress tests increase financial market stability also via the rating assignment channel.

The project funding is scheduled for a period of 2 years. In addition to financial support, it also includes cooperation with the relevant departments of the Deutsche Bundesbank.
